"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

On deviousness: it is simultaneously both subjective/relative and a statistical absolute...
Subjectively: deviousness is always relative to the norms and experience of the observer...
Statistically: it can be defined and quantified by the number of standard deviations a particular member differs from the norm of a population...
Psychologically: those of us blessed and/or cursed by a discontent with mundane normality tend to celebrate the devious and delight in the novel. Our increased exploration and experience of the devious creates a bias in our perception of what is normal. Our idea of devious becomes relative to the norm of a biased sample of the population. We bore of deviousness that once stimulated us and crave a greater deviance. It's a slippery slope!
